DAC Invitation from Magwel
Magwel demos at available during DAC 2020
Transient Performance – PTM-TR helps circuit designers optimize switching power loss, and check current crowding and device reliability risks during transients in their converter and power supply circuits. PTM-TR uses a 3D solver to produce a highly accurate simulation model for use in transient Spectre simulation of power transistor circuits. The Fast3D models it creates allow co-simulation of detailed behavior in a test bench or target circuit, utilizing full Spectre SPICE functionality. During co-simulation, PTM-TR also allows visualizations of voltage, current density and power within power transistors at each time point throughout the transient simulation.
ESD Protection Network Integrity Analysis – Magwel ESDi offers a breakthrough in HBM ESD analysis. It thoroughly simulates all pads in a design for proper ESD event protection. Large numbers of IO’s can be analyzed extremely quickly using parallel processing and optimizations that preserve accuracy and boost speed. It supports multiple ESD device triggers per event which provides accurate current values on all discharge paths using precise extracted parasitics for the full ESD protection network. ESDi also checks for potential break down of parasitic bipolar devices and supports modeling of snap back in ESD devices.
CDM Simulation for ESD – Magwel will be previewing a brand new approach to simulating CDM. This is a private demo that will be shown under NDA. Please schedule a time by contacting Magwel directly. CDM simulation and verification is a growing challenge for SOCs, and a fast and accurate solution is necessary to ensure product yield and reliability.
Power Distribution Network Extraction and Analysis – RNi determines the resistance from each pin to any point in complex metal and via networks. RNi is extremely useful for finding stress points where there can be excessive resistance. Problems with via arrays and metal wires are easily found using the graphical user interface and/or reports. Power and Ground nets can be quickly examined to find trouble spots. No stimulus is required, so the analysis can be done at any time during the design process. Advanced extraction and circuit solvers accelerate performance and provide results in minutes.
Power Transistor Modeling – Wide power devices need comprehensive modeling to ensure proper current distribution and good characterization for Rdson. PTM performs 3D extraction and reliability analysis. PTM extracts current densities, EM violations and IR drop information from these devices.
Thermal & Self Heating – PTM-ET can be used to improve power device reliability and improve sense device placement. Magwel offers a single solution that takes into account electrical and thermal behavior to solve in a deterministic way how a power device behaves as current is applied in its actual thermal environment. PTM-ET models active device and metal heating as a function of applied current and the tool understands how the die, package and board each contribute to thermal flux. Current density and temperature is calculated for every point within the device at each specified time point in the simulation. PTM-ET can help reduce the risk of thermal runaway
We look forward to seeing you at DAC this year in Las Vegas. If you cannot make it to our booth, feel free to ask for an overview and product demonstration in person or over the web at your convenience.
