Magwel's mission is to provide leading edge 3D simulation and extraction tools for IC's.

MAGWEL was founded in April 2003 by Wim Schoenmaker and Peter Meuris based on research done at IMEC. The creation of MAGWEL was motivated by requests to commercialize results from several international and national research projects involving the analysis and simulation of the entire layer stack of a semiconductor structure.

Magwel's products have been silicon validated at leading semiconductor companies on a large number of nanometer process technologies and applications.

In January 2008, Magwel merged with Kimotion Technologies and completed and A Round of Venture Capital funding led by Innovacom and Quest for Growth.

Also in January 2008, James Spoto joined Magwel's Board of Directors.
